Abby J. Kinne

March 5, 1944

to

November 30, 2011

In honor of Abby Jean Kinne, A memorial gathering will be held on March 3rd, 2012. My mom had 2 loves. Her family and her midwifery family. With the help of her husband and children she built the Stork's Nest for both families to gather at for generations to come. It seems most appropriate for us all to gather at the Stork's Nest to remember her. More details about this gathering will be added to this page as we have them.

Abby, a midwife for C.H.O.I.C.E., passed away in her sleep November 30, 2011, at home. She was born March 5, 1944, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late John R. and Gertrude Elfreda (Mathes) Wiggins. She was a member of C.H.O.I.C.E., NARM, OMA, and MANA Division of Research. She was also the 1st Certified Professional Midwife in the world. She was key in developing the Certified Professional Midwife Credential.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Rev. Fred Kinne, whom she married on March 23, 1963; daughters Rene' (Sande Kibble) Flowers of Logan, Stephanie (Mike) Murdock of Newark, and Heather Henry of East Liberty, son, Matthew Kinne of Magnetic Springs, brother, John (Mary Ellen) Wiggins of Columbus, grandchildren, Ray, Danielle, Trevor, Jeremy, Ryan, Nicholas, Michael, Kyle, Christopher, and Abby; nephew, John (Sherry) Wiggins of Columbus, and nieces Kathy (Mark) Hendershot of Westerville and Stacey (Ken) Lambert of Delaware.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Raymond Frederic (Rick) Kinne, II.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Abby Jean Kinne to C.H.O.I.C.E., 5721 North High St., Worthington, Ohio 43085. Additional questions may be directed to rene_flowers@yahoo.com.

I would like to gather storys, comments, notes, etc. about my mother and use them on this site and at the memorial. If you would like to participate please email them to Stephanie at scmurdock@yahoo.com.

All of the condolences are very greatly appreciated.
We look forward to seeing everyone in March.
