Framing Our Home

Finally the roofers are putting the shingles
on the roof! I am SO sick of sweeping water
off the floors every time it rains!

Looking good. I love the look of the
dimensional singles!

Mike has been working on the deck, too.
You can begin to see where the deck will be.

Rich is sheathing the last few holes
in the roof.

Building the Entry Gable

Trimming the sheathing for the final gable.

Thet begin to form the gable that will be
over the entry and the screened porch.

Now you can see it's shape.

Adding the ridge beam.

Now they have added the rafters.

And they built "fly-rafters" which will create
an overhang over the entry.

Mark is hanging out in the middle of nowhere!

Sheathing the Gable

Notice the square Mark has framed into the gable. This will be a octogon window in the gable wall.

Rainy Week: Little happened this week.

More work on Deck

Dave came to fill post holes around the deck
and dig some more.

Mike is dressing the holes for inspection while
Dave digs more holes. See the orange "X"?

My niece, Stacey, came to see what progress we had made on the house
and brought her three children, Lindsay, Zachary and Tyler.
